    • yeah, a big tourist attraction for people coming to shimla. but unfortunately my purpose of visiting the place was not fulfilled – of seeing snow, as i talked on cuckoo’s post on kufri.

  1. Wishing you a very happy new year too you too, Rahi!
So you have celebrated the beginning of this year at Kufri. Great!
Perhaps you were lucky that you dint encounter any snow there else you might have got a cold start. A New Year deserve something hot to start with. So let us start with this heated argument: Should we celebrate a new year in extreme cold in the middle of a dark night or when the traditional new year is celebrated with the break of a day-light at that time of season when flowers bloom to their beauty & birds chirp their way to fields?
Hey! Don’t get me wrong, was just kidding. Lets celebrate every day!
Happy New Year to One More Day in Life and its readers!

  2. A happy new year to you and your family – from my readers, my blog and me.

Yes I was at kufri just 2 days before the new year, and except for the unspotted snow, i liked everything about himachal – the greenery, the deodar trees, hills, the winding roads, the deep gullies, everything.

About people celebrating new year in the middle of a cold and dark night, it is a custom, that we have bought from westerners, who enjoy the eves of each festival.

  3. Oh Simla looks like a summer time except for the woolens. No snow at all. Simla has not changed over the years. 🙂

I had told you about the bleak chances of seeing snow. You had very little time, otherwise would have suggested some other place. 😀

Looking fwd to your full narration. Even I was away on vacation.

  4. u making fun of me cuckoo. that’s not fair.
hmm i didn’t see snow. shayad meri hi nazar lag gayi snow ko.
chalo koi nahi. agli bar dekh lenge
all in all the trip was quite refreshing.
Yes i learnt that u were out for vacation. so which place did u go this time?

  5. Hi, I reached here from Cuckoo’s blog where I’ve replied to your comment on the Jallianwala Bagh.

These are lovely photos, and HP is one of my fav destinations for travel. Shall return to read your detailed account of your Kufri trip. Have a happy 2009. 🙂
