Has Arushi received justice?
hardly would have arushi, the noida girl allegedly murdered by her father, hoped to get as much popularity living as she has after death.
a week ago, almost every channel was airing news on the murder mystery of arushi and hemraj, the family servant. so much was the hype created by the twin murder that many people were hooked on to their TVs, fetching great TRPs for many a channel. Read more »
A bus service named Mayawati
do you know what people call the yellow buses run by UP roadways between ghaziabad, noida and delhi? mayawati. that’s because it was mayawati, the present chief minister of UP, who restarted the bus service between noida and delhi.
during the reign of mulayam singh yadav, the ex-chief minister of UP, the bus service between the two states was snapped. while those at the top were unaffected, it was the people who commute between delhi to noida and delhi to ghaziabad who were the worst hit. Read more »
Dear Pussy Cat – where have you been
it was a just another sunday morning. completing my cup of tea, i had switched on the TV when Abhijeet, my elder brother, came with a good news. or was it a bad news – as time revealed.
a she-cat chose an isolated corner of our roof to give birth to her children. i rushed after him to the spot 5 cuddly kittens, one upon the other. since the mother was missing, we could safely watch them from a distance; animals don’t claim babies touched by humans. also, having had many bitter experiences at pets in the past, i didn’t want to have a pet now, especially when there were just two office going people at home.
so except for some oohs-aahs at the kittens, there was not much of a reaction. came down to surf more channels on the TV and prepare for a hectic sunday ahead. Read more »
The future of IT in India
we all agree to this. indian IT & ITES industry is pampering it’s employees with way too much in salaries, a lot of it undeserved (had they stuck to the same company, they wouldn’t have made more than the measly hike during appraisal. they chose the easier route though. by jumping fences often, they have continued to boost the salary they take home, and giving frets to their HRs through attrition). IT & ITES employees will thus have to share a part of the trouble that the industry is going through now. Read more »
Some ramblings
all the best to my blog – thru it i made friends with a girl in toronto, canada – feeling elated at the thought that my blog is read so far (although Mr. — you need not be so happy. it’s all because of google).
it was thru a comment on few of my posts that i was forced to write back. and we are writing to and fro every day. when i didn’t find her mail in my inbox this monday, i suddenly got frantic. “hope you are well”, i wrote. and there it was the next day. Read more »
Online newspapers, virtual computer and Doordarshan days
god knows why these online edition of newspapers don’t give all news on the home page. i was trying to find an article i read in print on the online edition of the economic times and there i was sifting through sections and subsections and more trying to locate the article. final result: the article was lost in the vast maze of the web. Dwindling respect for Mahatma Gandhi
while commuting everyday to noida from north delhi, there are a horde of temples that i pass enroute. as a devoted believer, i make it a point to show respect to these roadside gods and goddesses with folded hands. a slight deviation is when i pass rajghat, the samadhi of mahatma gandhi, the man who gave us our freedom from the british, and should have thus been equivalent to any god. not wanting to be an oddity, i decide to follow the general apathy of people towards mahatma gandhi (some people insist on not using the word mahatma). my respect for mahatma gandhi though is intact. Some talks about life, family, friends and work
today is a fairly boring day. looks like i have completed the entire work and it is still 3 in the noon.
also looks as if summer would be too difficult to bear since days will continue to get longer.
yesterday even though the day was eventful, not because of work-but because of no work, time moved at snail pace.
yesterday though some hope returned to life. wl discuss only if something good turns up. Read more »
